The Ministry of Electricity will sign on Thursday two new contracts for the construction of solar plants.
“Under the patronage of the Minister of Electricity Qassem Mohammad Fahdawi, the Ministry of Electricity will conclude two contracts to build solar power stations investment in the provinces of Babylon and Anbar,” ministry spokesman Musab al-Mudarab said in a statement.
“The contract will be discharged at 1 pm on Thursday at the ministry’s headquarters in the Mansour district of Baghdad,” he said, calling on the media to attend the signing ceremony.
The Ministry of Electricity concluded on the 19th of this month, the first two contracts for the installation and operation of four photovoltaic stations working on solar energy by investing 230 MW in the provinces of Muthanna and Najaf Ashraf.
Electricity Minister Qassem Al-Fahdawi, who attended the signing ceremony, expressed his “great happiness and optimism in concluding these two contracts, which is a new direction for the ministry in investing the sunlight to generate electricity.”
The Minister of Electricity that “Iraq enjoys the light of the sun in large quantities and throughout the year, which makes the investment of this blessing is a positive increase in the productive capacity of the national electrical system, which is reflected in increasing the hours of processing for citizens.”
He stressed that “the cost of persons preparing the finest employees of the ministry for the success of this contract,” stressing that “the ministry will go through these contracts, which will include most of the country’s provinces.”
