Oil announces its increase in production of a southern field
The Iraqi Oil Ministry said it started a plan to increase the production of the field of Nasiriyah in the province of Dhi Qar to 200 thousand barrels per day, from 90 thousand currently, the effort of local companies.
The Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar Laibi, in a statement that he directed companies “oil Dhi Qar, Iraqi drilling, oil projects,” and other support agencies, the development of the field national effort.
“The ministry has put the plan to increase production to 200 thousand barrels per day, through the drilling of 20 new wells.”
Iraq is the second largest producer of crude oil in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) after Saudi Arabia and the capacity of about 4.5 million barrels now.
