Saudi Arabia’s cabinet on Tuesday approved a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint Arab electricity market, including Iraq.
“The Saudi cabinet has approved a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint Arab electricity market,” SPA said.
It is noteworthy that 14 Arab countries signed on Friday (7 April 2017) a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a joint Arab electricity market at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital Cairo, on the sidelines of the twelfth session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity.
The participating countries are: Iraq, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Algeria, Sudan, Comoros, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Yemen.
