The United Nations said on Thursday that repairs to Mosul’s infrastructure would cost more than $ 1 billion.
“A preliminary assessment showed that the stabilization process, which involves repairing water, sewerage, electricity and reopening schools and hospitals in Mosul, will cost more than $ 1 billion,” UN humanitarian coordinator for Iraq Liz Grand said.
It said the damage was much greater than expected and much worse in the western half of the city than the east, which was restored from the control of the Daedash organization six months ago.
