The head of the Mazandaran Chamber of Commerce said that during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20), 150 million dollars worth of goods were exported from Mazandaran province to Iraq, an increase of about 3% compared to the same period last year.

Abdullah Mohajer said during the meeting with the businessmen in Mazandaran province that last year 250 million dollars worth of goods were exported from Mazandaran province to Iraq, which constitutes 5% of Iran’s total exports of 6 billion dollars.
He attributed the drop in exports from Mazandaran to Iraq to the difficulty of obtaining commercial visas.
He called on the Iraqi ambassador to take the necessary to facilitate the issuance of commercial visas for Iranian businessmen to export more of their agricultural and industrial products to Iraq.
“The level of export compared with the production of 6 million tons of agricultural products in the province is very low and we can enter the Iraqi market in a broader way, and called for facilitating the export of non-oil products to Iraq.
