The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Engineer Mohammed Shayaa al-Sudani, headed to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Saturday heading a large official delegation that included Deputy Minister for Planning Affairs Dr. Mohammad Hashim Abdul Majeed, Director General of the General Directorate for Industrial Development and representatives of the Ministries of Commerce, Transport, Labor and Social Affairs. Will take three days to discuss ways and means of expanding cooperation, partnership and investment opportunities between Iraq and Jordan. The Minister and his accompanying delegation were received by Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yabar Al-Qudah and Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safia Al-Suhail and a number of officials in the Jordanian government. The director of the media and public relations center in the ministry, Luai al-Waeli, said that the visit comes to follow up the results of the meetings of the 27-session of the Iraqi-Jordanian joint committee which was held in Baghdad for the period 19-20 of last March to discuss the enhancement of economic and trade relations and ways to overcome all obstacles. The minister stressed the direction and keenness of the Iraqi government to deepen bilateral relations and improve the level of economic and commercial cooperation with Arab, regional and foreign countries to contribute to the rehabilitation and development of the country’s infrastructure. Implementation of vital strategic projects and the development of Iraqi capabilities. Al Waeli pointed out that the minister and his accompanying delegation will hold several bilateral meetings and discussions with Jordanian government officials on several issues and files that concern and serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
