The Iraqi-Saudi coordination council is considering investing 1 million hectares of agricultural land in Anbar province, Planning Minister Salman Jumaili said Wednesday.
“The Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council is currently studying the investment of one million hectares of agricultural land in Anbar province to develop and rehabilitate the agricultural sector,” Jumaili, chairman of the coordinating council, said in a very brief statement.
The Iraqi-Saudi Ministerial Coordination Council, held on March 6, held a meeting in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to discuss the latest measures on cooperation in many economic, investment, cultural and other sectors.
“The meeting witnessed a review of the ministerial committees on recent developments in the coordination process in the fields of trade, economy, agriculture, water resources, health, culture, transport, youth, sports and education,” the secretariat said in a press release.
She pointed out that “there are 16 memorandums of understanding operated by the Iraqi government with the Saudi side, has been signed by the four of them by the parties so far, and the other notes will be completed in the near future.”
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, officially signed on October 22, 2017, the establishment of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council.
