Russian oil giant “Rosneft” has signed a contract to extend natural gas pipeline from the Kurdistan Region to Turkey.
And will start exporting gas according to the contract concluded from Kurdistan to Turkey in 2020 with a capacity of up to 30 billion meters per year Sega gas.
According to the contract, the amount of investment for the project is estimated at one billion US dollars.
Rosneft agreed in June to explore and develop five fields in the Kurdistan region as it seeks to become a key player in one of the most modern and fastest growing oil regions in the world.
Rosneft, controlled by the Kremlin this year, became the first major oil company to finance pre-funded crude exports from the Kurdistan Region, an activity long dominated by trading firms that financed the region in the war against ISIS and a financial crisis.
The Kurdistan Region estimates its recoverable reserves at 45 billion barrels of oil and 5.66 trillion cubic meters of gas.
