Ahmed El-Wakil, President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said on Monday, 9 April 2018, that the file of the participation of Egyptian companies in the reconstruction of Iraq is being sponsored and coordinated with Ibrahim Mahleb, Advisor to the President of the Republic for national projects.
On the number of Egyptian companies scheduled to participate in the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held April 26, the agent revealed that the file of reconstruction of Iraq needs large companies, and we participated with a delegation of 86 companies at the Kuwait reconstruction conference, and then we have a meeting with a large number of companies to be shared At the next conference, our primary objective is to get a good share of the reconstruction file.
The head of the chambers of commerce said that he is preparing a study on the projects to be worked in Iraq. The study also includes discussing the file of reconstruction funding allocated to him about 30 billion dollars from international institutions funded and donor, stressing that the study includes the needs of the reconstruction file, For example, there are sectors with companies operating in Iraq actually, but the focus will be on infrastructure, building materials and other sectors.
“In the last two years, Egypt’s companies have been aggressively pursuing implementation over a very limited period of time. There are companies that have not gone out to work in any foreign country, but have long and fast implementation experience,” he said. Egyptian tenders on the file of reconstruction of Iraq requires a move on a large level, and we are in constant contact and good relationship with the brothers in Iraq, and we will have a strong presence there.
